International Day of the Midwife

Today is a special day to honor the vital role of midwives in promoting and protecting the health of mothers and their babies worldwide. May 5th marks International Day of the Midwife, a day dedicated to celebrating midwives and their contributions to maternal and neonatal health care.

Midwives

Midwives play an essential role in the health of expectant mothers and their newborns, providing vital prenatal and postnatal care that is essential to ensuring a successful birth. Their primary focus is on providing support, care and education to expectant mothers, with the goal of helping them achieve the best possible health outcomes.

 

World Midwives Day Ceremony at Karaj Medical Council (International Midwives Day 2013)

The International Day of the Midwife ceremony was held on 2013, in collaboration with the Karaj Medical Council and the Provincial Association of Midwifery, in the conference hall of the Karaj Medical Council. Many midwife colleagues attended this ceremony.

Midwives serve

Midwives serve as the primary point of contact for expectant mothers, aiding them in making informed decisions about their options for labor and delivery, as well as providing emotional support. They also provide crucial information and education about maternal nutrition, family planning and breastfeeding.

International Day of the Midwife

International Day of the Midwife was created as a way to recognize the invaluable contribution midwives make to maternal and infant health around the world. This day provides the perfect opportunity to reflect on the hard work of these dedicated professionals and the impact they have on mothers and their babies.
